Grateful.

This is a little late, but its better late then never!

This Thanksgiving was mine and Bryson's first. I loved having him by my side. The night before we stayed up super late with our friend Jillyn. We were all just busy talking, and then it was 3am! So we slept in til about 10, went to my family's house at 11 am. We helped prep a bit, and then we had Thanksgiving lunch at noon! Bryson had work at 4:30pm, so we had lunch! It was great.

I was a bit sad when Bryson had to leave for work. I don't like Best Buy for opening so early for "Black Friday."

Things that I felt very grateful for as of late are:

Bryson (of course)
Family
New Family
My Job
My Students
My Body
My Mind
The Warm Weather
Paychecks
Prayers
Nightly Scripture Study with Bryson
My Home
Music
Friends (Old and New)
Social Media (although there is a lot of crap, there is also a lot of good)
The Gospel
The Temple
Spiritual Promptings
Learning New Things
Forgiveness
and
Love

I love this time of year, and I am loving this December. I always love that Thanksgiving comes before Christmas, it always puts me in a good mood.

Here are a few pics from Thanksgiving! My mom always does an amazing job at decorating the table and I just love pies.
I love that this was added to our table this year :)

I'm So Behind

So many blog worthy things have happened. But teaching keeps me busy and tired! So then I feel overwhelmed of how behind I am.

Here are some highlights of the past month or so.

October 9-11 Scott Family Retreat
  • My mom rented a cabin for our whole family up in Sundance. It was the perfect time of year to be up there. It was beautiful! Kyle and Monica's family were visting from Arizona, so everyone got to be there! That means 10 adults and 7 children...it was a blast!
  • We went hiking to Stewart Falls, played games, ate lots of food and enjoyed one another company!
  • Here are some pics:

October 15-19th Arizona Fall Break Trip
  • Bryson and I took a trip out to Arizona to visit Kyle and Monica and get some dental work done! It was a fun trip and we enjoyed spending time with their family!
  • We watched Sophie's soccer game, had the biggest pancake ever, went out to the movies, had a fun dinner/laser tag date, took a tour of the Phoenix Temple and spent many hours at Kyle's dental office! It was so hot too! It was like being back in summertime--I loved it! Here are some pics:

 October 31st Our First Halloween
  • I love Halloween. I love dressing up and eating lots of candy :) It was fun being a teacher, and see how excited all the students were! Our school made it a really fun day for the students!
  • Bryson had to work that night, so I was a little sad but decided to spend the evening with Denae and Andrew and their kids. It was a blast seeing Noah, Hadley and Ander go trick or treating.
  • Bryson ended up getting off early so we were able to spend the later part of the night together. I was so happy that he did not have to work til 11!
Other Things:
  • Bryson and I bought our cruise for this next summer! We are going to the Bahamas in July!! I couldn't be more excited
  • The last 2 days both Bryson and I got the flu. We have been best friends with Netflix. It is nice to have company when you are sick, but this illness has been rough! But this is why I have time to blog, so there is a silver lining to it all ;)

100 Days

Okay, sorry for all the posts today, but I just realized today is the 100th day of being married. How could I not make a post about this?

These have been the happiest 100 days of my life. 100 days of waking up to Bryson. 100 nights of going to sleep with Bryson. He is my best friend and I thank God every day that he put Bryson in my life.

Air Mattresses and Weekends

Sometimes we get our air mattress out and blow it up in our living room to watch a late night movie. We try to enjoy our weekends together :) Our weeks are always so crazy that it's nice to just relax a bit on the weekend. I may or may not be blogging while being lazy on this beautiful bed. I sure love weekends.

One Minor Problem

We got a washer and dryer! I'm so excited :) Thanks to Bryson's employment we got a great discount on some awesome machines!

But there is just one problem....

That's right. Our bathroom door doesn't close.

But I don't care. I'm too happy about having a washer and dryer! So we bought a curtain and put that up for privacy. Laugh if you want, we sure did! We figured we wont live here forever so our next place we will just make sure our washer and dryer fits!

Fall Beginnings

Well, August flew by! I cannot believe it is already September. I have started my new job and I'm loving it. Sometimes driving home I can't believe I'm actually a teacher! My students are so great, and the staff I work with I love.

Bryson is back to school! He is worried about his Physics class, but the rest shouldn't be too bad. He is still working at Best Buy. He is hoping to get a job with Phlebotomy because he just finished getting certified! We are crossing our fingers he can get one soon! He really wanted to practice poking with a needle on me...but I just couldn't do it (I don't do well with needles in my arm).

We are hoping to take a trip in October to California if things fall into place. I plan to show Bryson my "home" in California and visit some family and friends. It will be a really fun trip, and I hope it happens!

We are still in love as ever and happily being newlyweds.

Best Friends.

You know what is the best? Being married to your best friend.

This week my car died and my computer crashed. I was a mess. Literally. At one point I was curled up in a ball on my bed crying. But you know who was there and had their arms wrapped around me? Bryson. He is amazing. And he is my best friend. He is the person I tell everything to, and can look like a mess and feel like a mess...but still feel so safe.

I'm grateful our marriage is eternal and that I get to spend eternity with my best friend. He makes me laugh daily and I'm grateful for the humor we share with one another. When my world was feeling like it was falling apart, Bryson was there to help it feel put together again.

I love you babe. Thanks for being my best friend.

In other news...we had my Grandpa's 80th birthday party Friday.  All my aunts, uncles and cousins came into town. It was a fun time and I enjoyed having my family get to know Bryson a little more, and for Bryson to get to know my family more as well. Then Saturday we had a family reunion. That was fun as well. We sat and talked, played volleyball, ate good food and had an auction. It was a good family-filled weekend!

[Update on my car and computer:
Car just needed the battery cleaned and tightened.
Computer was toast, but I got my files back...however they have no file names. So I have a billion files to go through...kind of a mess. ]

Camping Trip

Bryson and I went camping with my side of the family this weekend! My brother Kyle and his family from Arizona were in town and so it seemed like the thing to do. So we had 7 little kiddos running around and enjoyed each others company. We brought up a four-wheeler, and RZR, and rode around the trails up American Fork Canyon. We cooked hot dogs for dinner over the fire. Bryson and I made 2 fruit cobblers in dutch ovens. We slept in tents. It was the real deal. And it was a lot of fun. Good memories.

Also happy ONE MONTH to my wonderful husband. It been the best month of my life and we have had a lot of fun. I still am crazy in love with my husband and plan to continue to for eternity. Love you babe!!

Temple Photo Shoot

My awesome sister and brother in law have become very talented in photography! They took our engagement photos, and we also did a photo shoot with them before the wedding day at the temple. I felt a lot better this day! It was a lot of fun and we enjoyed working with them! We took a lot of photos before the wedding day because I didn't want to have to worry too much about getting photos that day, and to just make the wedding day a little more relaxed :) and I'm glad we did it that way!
